The Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) directive
sets controls that aim to dramatically reduce the disposal, by
landfill or incineration, of “waste” electronic and
electrical equipment. It holds Producers responsible for their
products from design and manufacture through to the end of the
product’s life.
The WEEE directive is the European Union’s contribution
to achieving a higher level of environmental protection and encouraging
resource efficiency. It sets targets for the collection, reuse
and recycling of electronic and electrical waste. |
Sims Group’s Recycling Solutions division announces the acquisition of RecommIT, a UK IT asset services business.
Sims Recycling Solutions expands its services for supporting companies in managing the value of their electronic assets through the acquisition of Recommit Limited.
